Job holder would be accountable for ensuring the completion of the Credit Capital Forecasting for the products across business lines by leading the forecasting process & driving the production of timely accurate reporting with regards to forecasts for RT, EL, CREC and other Capital & Basel metrics that are:
Compliant with agreed timelines and Governance standards;
Being the Focal point of CRO with regards to Capital Forecast queries;
Educate/assist local BU’s in meeting reporting requirements;
Raise awareness across divisions and drive the standardization of methods & appropriate tools to derive various metrics;
Develop sound Business relationships through stakeholder management with all parties required (CRO BU’s Team, Central Impairment Team, Treasury , BP&A,...) to ensure delivery;
Challenge provided results and recommend corrections/amendments/ overrides where necessary;
Driving supportive concise commentary to assist Senior audiences & portfolio managers;

Additionally s/he would also be involved in supporting ad-hoc exercises for Capital evaluation for launches of new products/ventures/deals & assisting in Pricing evaluations for existing portfolios whilst assisting in completion of Highly Profile Regulatory Compliance activities, such as Stress Testing.
Partial requirements list:
Practical experience in analyzing data, drawing inferences, and making recommendations to solve complex business problems. Preferably having experience in credit reporting for a financial industry firm;
Practical experience in delivering Forecasting /developing forecasting “Models” (Implementing, documenting, running, updating, improving etc...);
Practical experience of developing MI reports
Able to present complex analytical concepts to all levels of the business.
Proficiency in performing data analysis and reporting utilizing with MS software suite. Highly proficient in Excel & PowerPoint. Knowledge of a SAS/SPSS;
Completion of a degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research etc… while a Masters degree is preferred.
Conceptual awareness of risk in a retail banking environment with particular emphasis in credit cards and consumer lending;

At least one year experience in similar role within a Financial/Banking Organization;
IT literate (not to a developers level) with an appreciation & understanding of system flows, system problem implications, system solving methods;
Extended knowledge of fundamental principles for Basel II Accord, IFRS IAS 39;
Previous project management experience is desirable

Manager - High Risk and Credit Performance Analytics         

Job Purpose

  • This is a senior role within our high risk and credit performance analytics  team in NYC.  
  • Responsibility for creating/ managing the centralized analytics for HRAM strategies across all cluster businesses
  • Analytical structuring of base HRAM strategies – exposure reduction, authorization policies (base, delinquent, over limit, reissue strategy, charge-backs, payment holdings, chip and PIN settings etc. 
  • Ensuring analytical consistency and quality control in HRAM strategies across all cluster functions by application of best practice in decision-making 
  • Work in close partnership with the SBU HRAM managers for implementation, tracking and stakeholder management of HRAM strategies 
  • Deep dive into portfolio credit risk hot spots and provide analytical and program recommendations to address such issues – (e.g Increase in average bad balance, adverse bad to good ratio etc.)

 

Credit Risk Analytics:

Ensure the highest standard of analytical quality, credit card P&L insight and industry knowledge in structuring and testing of HRAM strategies and ensuring risk reward tradeoff for our strategies.

Detailed review of portfolio risk trends and analysis of potential credit risk hot spots followed by suitable portfolio management recommendations to address the issues.

Business Communication:

Maintain a close working relationship with SBU HRAM managers, chief risk officers and marketing analytics counterparts and develop a detailed understanding of their portfolio and risk capabilities to add value.

Interact with internal and external stakeholders to manage project deliverables.

Staff Management:

Manage a team of 1-2 direct reports and leverage CRO centralized functions to deliver on analytical projects.

Manage the performance development and day to day issues for all portfolio management and performance analytics colleagues in LIC centre of excellence.

Drive proactive application of Barclays’ behaviors both personally and throughout the team and coach and support colleagues within the Team.

 

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong analytical experience in credit card industry with demonstrated ability of using analytics to create portfolio strategies.
  • Excellent business awareness and specific industry awareness
  • Detailed knowledge of credit card P&L, risk management programs, policy and procedures
  • High level of understanding of the macroeconomic factors affecting credit card customer base and the geographic issues relating to individual sectors 
  • Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role
